SEATTLE STREET OUTREACH DOCUMENTARY

The S.W.A.T. (Spiritual Warfare And Tactics) Team (Training Evangelism And Ministry) was a Christian-based, Seattle street outreach group active in the late 80's. It was founded by Johnny Johnson (click link for website) and Mike Mayer (click link for e-mail). The following video (originally recorded on standard VHS), is now available as a FREE online download! This video (completed in 1989) features the full documentary about the S.W.A.T. Team as it existed during those years; helping kids on Broadway and the University district of Seattle find an escape from the streets, hope for a second chance, and a new life knowing Jesus Christ. This page is posted as a tribute to all the friends those of us who were members of the S.W.A.T. team made down on the streets and to anyone who was involved then and remembers. In the future I would like to post a list of all past members of the S.W.A.T. Team as well as a list of all of our friends we used to hang with on the streets of Seattle. Those of you with older copies of the original documentary VHS will hopefully appreciate this newly updated version, which contains some updated scene transition effects and an improved audio track (we hope to have DVDs of the documentary available in the near future as well). Unfortunately, the original video footage itself was extracted from second-generation VHS tapes resulting in occasional poor video and audio quality at various segments. We are still searching for the master tapes, which were missplaced years ago. These are essential if a quality DVD version is to be accomplished. Video is approx. 36 minutes in length and can be streamed (WMV below) or downloaded. Downloading is recommended for best results (see instructions below the video for help downloading). You may also require special video codecs to view this presentation (also see below for info on updating your system with these codecs). To stream the video in fullscreen mode, simply double-click on the video below once it has buffered and is actively showing (this make take a few minutes depending on the speed of your Internet connection). If double-clicking doesn't work, try right-clicking on the video and chose FullScreen. IF PAGE IS NOT ADDED TO YOUR FAVORITES USING THE BUTTON ABOVE, TRY CLICKING CTRL-D ON YOUR KEYBOARD DOUBLE-CLICK SCREEN ABOVE WHEN PLAYING TO VIEW FULL SIZE Right-click the desired link below and choose Save Target As to download the video to your computer. There are two files to choose from (one in Windows Media Video format and one in DivX Xvid AVI format). These files both have fair resolution (the DivX AVI is slightly better), and both contain the entire documentary (albeit still in somewhat lower quality than the original VHS & DVD presentation). IMPORTANT VIDEO CODEC INFORMATION FOR AVI FILE: In the event that you are not able to view the video after downloading it, it may be that your computer does not have the proper codec for this type of video file. You will need to download DivX and also the XviD codec. If you do not have XviD, CLICK HERE to download it.
